AN EMERGING WHITE SUPREMACIST ORGANISATION HAS STARTED TO BECOME MORE ACTIVE IN SOUTH WALES OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS

ITS FOUNDER IS MARK COLLETT, THE EX-PUBLICITY MAN FOR THE BRITISH NATIONAL PARTY UNDER LEADER NICK GRIFFIN

HE PROPAGATES AN ANTI-SEMITIC CONSPIRACY THAT JEWISH PEOPLE “OVERWHELMINGLY… SUPPORT MASS IMMIGRATION” WHICH CAUSES WHITE BRITONS TO BE “GENOCIDED”.

By Mark Redfern

Anonymous members of a new neo-Nazi group have boasted of leafleting residential areas in Swansea and  Porthcawl with their vile propaganda over recent weeks, according to their social media.

Patriotic Alternative (PA) is a fascist group that has grown steadily since its inception in September 2019, helmed by notorious ex-BNP activist and senior organiser Mark Collett, and his second-in-command Laura Tyrie (aka Laura Towler).

Key figures in the group have a long history of supporting fascist movements and peddling vicious antisemitism.

The scaremongering leaflet PA Wales distributed said: “White Britons to be a minority by the 2060s – or SOONER”. This event was part of a concerted recruitment campaign around the country, including communities in Manchester, Glasgow, and Hull.

PA Wales broadcast the news of the leaflet drops to their social media followers during late-November to early-December 2020, the first major push for action since the group unfurled ‘White Lives Matter’ banners for photo-ops at various landmarks across the UK.

PA founder Mark Collett started his career as chairman of the Young BNP and progressed to orchestrating publicity for the BNP as they fought for, and failed at, electoral success in the 2010 UK General Election.

Collett was the subject of media scrutiny during his foray into electoral politics, being featured a 2002 documentary fronted by Russell Brand called Naziboy, in which he called gay men “AIDs monkeys” and “faggots”.

In a Channel 4 documentary around the same time, a candid Collett was caught on camera telling a journalist: “The Jews have been thrown out of every country, including England… When it happens that many times it’s not just persecution. There’s no smoke without fire.”

Collett, in one of his numerous online diatribes, also said in a livestream discussion in 2020: “Isn’t it amazing that overwhelmingly Jews support mass immigration into Britain?”, and that immigration is causing white Britons to be “bred out” and “genocided”.

The ex-BNP man is not the only PA-linked activist with dangerous views.

A speaker invited to talk to PA recruits at their annual conference this year continued the theme of anti-Semitic conspiracy talk, but this time with the words ‘Jewish’ meticulously censored out of the speech when it was posted online to avoid accusations of hate-speech.

US Nazi Jason Köhne, also known as No White Guilt on YouTube, regaled the crowd with a story from a past job where he tricked a Jewish customer over the phone that they shared the same faith. He claimed the customer started to give him confidential business secrets without concern, and the relationship soured only when they met in person and the customer saw Köhne’s “phenotype”.

Laura Tyrie is PA’s deputy director and works closely with Collett. Although less experienced in far-right activism, she has professed her admiration for notorious British fascist Oswald Mosely – the leader of British fascism & ally of Hitler in the 1930s – and has also managed to have a bizarre feud with a tea company.

Tyrie’s husband, Sam Melia, was part of a National Action (NA) march in November 2016 which culminated in nazi salutes and sermons about “hook-nosed bankers”. NA later became a proscribed group under anti-terror legislation.

voice.wales has also obtained a copy of the leaflets that were distributed by activists in Swansea which make sensational claims about ethnic minorities intended to rile up anti-immigrant sentiment in the city.

The leaflet claims, using demographer Professor David Coleman as a source, that whites will be a minority in the UK by the 2060s.

Patriotic Alternative neglect to mention is that Professor Coleman is also helped to found controversial campaign group MigrationWatch UK, which led to outrage from his students, and has been described on the website of the BNP as “a very distinguished demographer whom we trust”.

Prof Coleman is also a Fellow at the Galton Institute, a rebranding of the Eugenics Society

Besides their own campaigning, PA Wales has put out a call on social media for “boots on the ground” against refugees in Penally. These protests have recently become a new recruiting pool for the Welsh far-right.

Matthew Shephard, spokesperson for Swansea’s UNISON branch, told voice.wales: “It’s been brought to our attention that a tiny group of neo-Nazis are trying to stir up racial hatred in Swansea.”

“Swansea Council UNISON Branch Secretary Chris Cooze has stated that Unison opposes all racism – not just because of the effect it has on our Black members but also because it also divides us and makes us all weaker when fighting for better pay and conditions for all.”

“As austerity and cuts from the Tory government pound our workplaces and communities we need unity and action to defend our living standards, not division and hatred encouraged by racists and Nazis.”
